Pass Judgement on Humanity

Todays piece is a portrait of Dave Mustaine, frontman of the metal band Megadeth.

I am currently loving the band portraits I’m doing, its a great challenge relaying their attitude in a drawing.

Anyway, I’m off to listen to some more Megadeth.

Mad as a Panda Hatter

I really like this sketch, the pose and the clothes work really well I think. I still feel I need to work more on baggy draping clothes though.

The hat idea came from browsing DeviantArt looking for hats.

Live For the Music

Woo! Baggy clothes are interesting to pull off. With this I tried fluttering ribbons, baggy layers and plaits.

Will have to do more, need to practice.

Currently working on some amazing commissions, and 3 beautiful portraits that I can’t wait to publish!

Keep a weather eye on the horizon,

Todays daily illustration is Bon Jovi.

I love celebrity portraits like this. It recieved so much positive feedback on my deviantart I decided to spread the word! When I find the original piece, I might put it up for sale.

Heres mine for today!

Skinny jeans, cropped HUGE hooded jacket, and that thing pulling the tshirt down is a chain with a big cross attached.

I like drawing stretched fabric, its a great way of giving it depth and shape!

Tools, 0.3 0.5 0.7 mm mechanical pencil, 0.5mm black drawing pen.

Mantis’ Hymn

Note the belt accessory, inspired by Akuma from Street Fighter!

Hehe, I couldn’t think of what to decorate her with, and it just seemed right!

Usual tools, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 mm 2B, 4B mechanical pencils.

0.5 mm black drawing pen.

Look In Your Mirror Beforehand

Posted in Daily Illustrations on 13/01/2010 by aerixis

Daily illustrations seem to be being posted right after midnight, hahaha!

Anyway this was a venture into different clothing styles, but mostly because I wanted to work on belts over fabric.

Also, I think the jacket looks damn awesome.

Once again, I may just revamp this design at a later date, but at least here you can see the result I was aiming for.

You Might Win One Battle

Posted in Daily Illustrations on 12/01/2010 by aerixis

This sketch was based around the theme of ‘military’, but I decided not to follow the guidelines for ‘The Military’ and instead used the idea idea of militant, rebel, freedom fighter etc etc.

Little details like the bullet on the zipper chain, dog tags, memory ribbon on the arm, I tried to use more ‘suggestive’ details rather than the whole HURR HURR A CHICK WITH A GUN AND CAMOUFLAGE approach.

Very simple, not too extravagant, but I like the socks.

I will be refreshing this idea, I feel it can be improved.
